1 — GENERALITIES
1.1 — Acknowledgement of the Technical Notice :
It is imperiously necessary, before any setting up or use of the related equipment, to read,
understand and follow the given instructions.
The General Manager and the operators using this liftable must strictly comply with the following
notices :
This notice applies to all operators in charge of the setting up, functioning, adjusting,
upkeeping, repairing and handling of the described equipment.
The General Manager must give this technical notice correct instructions to the machine
operators.
This technical notice of instructions must be kept for consulting during the liftable’s lasting,
even if it is sold, if another manager or operator handles it.
The main laws and regulations for this equipment are the following:
a) The Directives :
The directive Machine N°2006/42/ce
The directive Tension Basis N° 2006/95/CE
The directive Magnetic compatibility N°2004/108/Ce
b) The Norms :
The Norms liftable EN 1570 .
EN 60204.1 for the electricity, EN 982 for the hydraulic, EN ISO 13857 for distance of
security
The Manager is responsible for theses actual Directives applications. For this liftable running, he
particularly must take in account the here-above actual legislation and recommendations.
This technical notice of maintenance is not a Formation handbook, but this liftable using needs at
least correct information to the machine-operators. This information can be done by an informed
operator having already used or repaired this liftable.
1.2 — Main instructions :
The related equipment can only be used by capable, informed and qualified operators.
This equipment can only be used according to the manufacturer’s foreseen conditions given in
the present technical notice instructions.
Using of the liftable not conformable with this notice instruction could produce risks and damages
to persons, goods and surroundings.
Before each using, the operator must check the equipment good order and must not use this
equipment if the identification marks are not readable or visible.
Either for the mechanical or electrical or hydraulical part, the manufacturer declines all
responsibility on eventual consequences of characteristics alterations (for example: fuses) or
modifications done without previous written agreement; in case the customer or machineoperator
wishes a modification, he must contact the manufacturer before.
For goods or persons safety and for the correct guarantee of the equipment, use only the original

parts.
2 — SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT
2.1 — Identification of the equipment:
The equipment has an identification plate fixed on one side of the platform. This plate
indicates: manufacturer’s name, year of construction, capacity and serial no. of the equipment.
This serial no. must be written or given by telephone from the customer to the manufacturer.
2.2 — Summary description:
Generally, the equipment described in this notice is based on electrohydraulic scissors liftables.
They are usually constituted of the following elements:
A platform which is in general in direct contact with the load to be moved. This platform is
built from sheet-metal and trade profiles, assembled according to a mechano-welded
structure, conceived for the forecasted use.
A base frame realised from trade profiles, assembled according to a mechano-welded
structure.
Scissors arms, mounted in one or more scissors systems, articulated between 2 fix points
on the frame and 2 fix points under the platform ; between 2 mobil points moving on the
base frame roller tracks and 2 mobil points moving under the platform roller tracks. This
lifting system is moved by 1 or more hydraulic cylinders.
A hydraulic unit including a motor-pump pack, a valve-gear device, safety components,
pipes and hoses, all conceived, manufactured and tested in regard to the hydraulic
cylinders and the use of the equipment.
An electrical system: electrical chest, control parts, necessary safety devices, conceived,
manufactured and tested in regard to the forecasted used of the equipment.
Possibly, particular devices or options as for example: manual or hydraulically controlled
connection bridge, tilting platform, swivelling platform, particular safety components, and so
on… securing the equipment specification with the present technical notice.
General drawing is sent with, a hydraulic drawing with nomenclature, an electrical drawing with
detailed nomenclature.

3 — HANDLING — TRANSPORT — STOCKING
3.1 — Handling :
The equipment is delivered with rings or slings hooks, usually fixed on its frame. When the
equipment is installed, these slings hooks must be removed. It is highly advised to keep these
handling accessories to use them for next handlings, in case of equipment displacement.
The equipment must be slinged with slings having power according to its weight and fixed to the
slings hooks which have been placed on the equipment according to its gravity centre.
In case that for any reason the equipment handling cannot be done through slings, it is then
possible to handle by taking the load underneath (example : fork lorry). Then, be sure that the
used means are able to handle the equipment according to its dimensions and weight and that
the forks take it under the base frame and this on both sides of the gravity centre. If not, the
equipment can be damaged by frame distortion or by failure. If the lorry forks are too short, it is
then necessary to use carrier rails holding the frame on its width.
To check the equipment weight and dimensions, see the detailed description or the
manufacturer’s plate.
During handling of heavy loads, it is of course necessary to put the general instructions
into operation.
3.2 — Transport :
Usually, the delivery is done by road transport. Loading on truck done by manufacturer, choking
on truck platform by the transporter.
At arrival on the customer’s site, in case of damages observation on the equipment, the customer
must enter a reservation toward the forwarding agent; for this, report to the delivery bill
indications. In case of components missing or damages, written reservations must be put on the
forwarder’s bill and confirmed before 3 open days to the forwarder by registered letter.
It the equipment needs to be forwarded again to another place, it is necessary to forecast a road
or rail transport according to its dimensions.
In any case, handling and transport must be done with respect to the here-above mentioned
handling rules. Fixing on the transport engine must be supervised and be ensured that it is done
according to the equipment mass.
3.3 — Stocking :
If the equipment is not immediately used and that it is stocked before its final installation be sure
to stock it in climatic environments almost the same as the place where it will be working. In this
case, the equipment stocking during a laps of time less than two years, needs no complementary
accessories or cautions, except to cover it with an awning or similar to protect it against dust or
dirts.
However, if the equipment will be stocked more than 3 months, even in a place where the
environment is the same at the forecasted final place, it is necessary at the setting and before
running, to drain the hydraulic power pack (the drained oil can be given to a company enable to
recover used oils), to check the hydraulic flexibles and the cylinders packings, parts which can
eventually dry up and harden during equipment non-running. If necessary, replace the defective

elements.
As this must be avoid, if the equipment will be stocked, even less than 3 months, in a
place with more difficult climatic environment than the forecasted final place, in addition
to the above mentioned warnings you have to forecast complementary protections against
eventual unexpected corrosion.
If you have any doubt, please take advice near the manufacturer.

4 — MOUNTING — APPLICATION
4.1 — Mounting :
4.1.1 — Civil engineering :
The model type fix liftable are forecasted to be directly put or fixed on an even floor (or other
stand), plain and resistant. In particular, ascertain that the equipment base frame, in bearings
area, is resting on the floor (or other stand) on all the length corresponding to these bearings.
The resting area on the zones in contact with the equipment must have the following dimensions
characteristics :
. maximum slope 1 % (or 1 cm by meter)
. plane surface : maximum 3 mm measured under a 1 meter ruler
. support resistance on resting zones : minimum 3daN/cm².
. The total load that the resting area must support is at least equal to the equipment weight
increased with its maximum lifting capacity 20 % increased.
In case the ground (or support) does not fit with these geometric requirements, chokings must be
forecasted under the base frame bearings.
Sometime, the fix liftable is set in a pit (so to have the platform top levelled with the inferior floor).
In this case, the forecasted pit must have the following dimensions :
. length equal to the elevator’s length increased of + 3 cm
. width equal to the elevator’s width increased of + 3 cm
. depth equal to the elevator’s collapsed height increased of 1 cm.
The elevator’s length, width, and collapsed height are given in the above detailed description.
It is imperious to forecast between the pit and the technical room where will be placed the
electrical control chest and the hydraulic power pack, a pipe for electrical cables (normally with a
preconised 80 mm diameter) and a pipe for the hydraulic flexibles (normally with a preconised 80
to 100 mm diameter).
If the elevator will be placed outside, it is necessary to forecast a big enough hole to allow a
correct evacuation of the rain-water.
4.1.2 — Setting :
4.1.2.1 — In case the is liftable on floor :
a) With an appropriated handling mean, the equipment is placed on the floor. This handling must
be done according to the indications given on paragraph 3 of the present technical notice.
If during its running the equipment must hold decentred loads, it is highly enjoined to place
it for its use so that the loads centre of gravity be nearer the width where are the arms fix
points of articulations (that is on the opposite side to the travelling wheels).
If during its running the equipment must hold rolling loads, it is highly enjoined to place it for
its use so that the width where are the arms fix points of articulations (that is on the
opposite side to the travelling wheels) be on the side where the load is placed on the
platform.

b) If the POWER PACK is outside the base frame, Place the hydro electrical power pack on its
final place, dismount the cap and connect the flexibles to the power pack as they were before.
Be careful not to permute the flexibles from their first position.
c) Set the electrical control chest at its forecasted place.
Do the electrical cabling. It must be done according to the electrical drawing, IMPERIOUSLY
check that the main electrical voltage is strictly identical to the equipment voltage given in the
electrical drawing.
d) If necessary, dismount the slings and keep them.
e) Check the motor rotating direction of the power pack set on the liftable.
For this, push only 1 or 2 seconds on the button UP (not more because the motor can be
damaged). If the platform raises, the electrical connection is correct. If not, the rotating
direction of the motor must be modified by permuting 2 phases to the electrical branching.
f) With the push-button box, bring the equipment to high position, retract the safety legs on their
chocks. Seal or fix the equipment frame in the pit.
4.1.2.2 — In case the liftable is in pit :
a) With an appropriated handling mean, the equipment is placed on the floor. This handling must
be done according to the indications given on paragraph 3 of the present technical notice.
Before completely lower the elevator in the pit, pass over the electrical cable and the hydraulic
flexibles in the forecasted pit holes and the technical room where are the electrical control chest
and the hydroelectrical power pack.
During lowering, pull slowly and without damaging them, the electrical cable and the flexibles
toward the electrical control chest and the hydroelectrical power pack.
Caution, for security purposes, do not stay under the load during this operation.
If during its running the equipment must hold decentred loads, it is highly enjoined to place
it for its use so that the loads centre of gravity be nearer the width where are the arms fix
points of articulations (that is on the opposite side to the travelling wheels).
If during its running the equipment must hold rolling loads, it is highly enjoined to place it for
its use so that the width where are the arms fix points of articulations (that is on the
opposite side to the travelling wheels) be on the side where the load is placed on the
platform.
b) If the POWER PACK is outside the base frame, Place the hydro electrical power pack on its
final place, dismount the cap and connect the flexibles to the power pack as they were before.
Be careful not to permute the flexibles from their first position.
c) Set the electrical control chest at its forecasted place.
Do the electrical cabling. It must be done according to the electrical drawing, IMPERIOUSLY
check that the main electrical voltage is strictly identical to the equipment voltage given in the
electrical drawing.
d) If necessary, dismount the slings and keep them.

e) Check the motor rotating direction of the power pack set on the liftable.
For this, push only 1 or 2 seconds on the button UP (not more because the motor can be
damaged). If the platform raises, the electrical connection is correct. If not, the rotating
direction of the motor must be modified by permuting 2 phases to the electrical branching.
f) With the push-button box, bring the platform to its low position to check that it levels with the
lower floor level. If not, adjust the chocks in low position or consequently chock the frame. Bring
the equipment to high position, retract the safety legs on their chocks. Seal or fix the equipment
frame in the pit.
4.2 — Putting into service :
4.2.1 — Oil level checking :
Oil filling and adjustments have been done in our factory. Yet, for more caution, it is necessary to
check the oil level in the power pack tank, this to be sure that oil has not been spilled during
transport or installation.
If necessary, fill with an oil corresponding to the indications of the joined list of oils (liftable in low
position).
If the filling cannot be done liftable in low position, take in account the remaining oil in the
cylinders so to avoid overflowing at platform lowering.
Please note that the first draining must be imperiously done after the first 150 working
hours or after six months.
4.2.2 — Adjustments checking :
Check that the previous adjustments done in our factory have not been changed during
transport, stocking or installation operations, this by handling the apparatus first with no load,
then with a load and check that the obtained results are the one mentioned in the here-above
mentioned detailed description.
The various possible adjustments which should be done by the maintenance staff or duly
experimented operators, can be :
Adjustment of the lowering speed :
The lowering speed is set at the factory with the nominal load ; however, it can be adjusted by
screwing or unscrewing the regulating screw of the hydraulic flow regulating valve (see hydraulic
diagram) : see the attached technical data sheet.
In case the lowering speed would be adjusted higher than the forecasted one and that the
platform would be clamped on position, it is then necessary to modify the fall-proof valve
adjustment. This very difficult operation can be done only by qualified staff. It is advised to vary
the lowering speed only to a smaller one.
Adjustment of the lifting speed :
The lifting speed is not adjustable ; it is directly related to the output of the hydraulic pump
dependant on the rotation speed of the electric motor, according to the given informations in the
specification.

Adjustment of the pressure limit valve :
This part is placed on the hydraulic control block. It is meant to forbid any overload on the
apparatus on low position. It is set in our factory and should not be re-adjusted for staff security
purposes.
Yet, only an experimented maintenance staff can do any modification of its adjustment.
Adjustment of the strokes :
The strokes are adjusted in our factory according to the customer’s given informations. Yet, on
customer’s previous formal demand, we can meet adjustable systems. In this case, bring the
platform on the wanted position, chock the platform and adjust the contactors placed on the base
frame.
4.2.3 — Hydraulic leaks checking :
After some strokes, check the good tightening of the various hydraulic couplings and no
leaking on cylinders.
4.2.4 — Safety components checking :
During the previous workings, be sure of the accessories good functioning, in particular the
safety frame placed under the liftable platform (if the safety frame has been forecasted in the
technical data).
4.2.5 — Regulations obligations :
Be sure that the identification plates, giving the maximum capacity, are placed on the
liftable and readable.
Close by the liftable, in an area visible to the operators, stick up an identification plate «SAFETY
RECOMMENDATIONS» (sent with the liftable and the technical documents).
Be sure that the safety recommendations placed on the safety legs are present and readable.
Be sure that the staff safety recommendations plate placed under the platform is
presented and readable before any maintenance or repairing operation.
If some plates are missing or not readable, or if you need complementary identification plates,
they will be supplied on customer’s request.

5 — DIRECTIONS FOR USE
According to the present technical notice, the equipment is meant to vertically lift one or more
loads, and sometimes if it is forecasted and previously requested by the customers, to move by
translation or swivelling on a horizontal level.
Until further notice clearly given in the enclosed technical description, the equipment must be
used in the normal climatic conditions in Western Europe, this means -10°C and +40°C with a
hydrometry lower than 80%. In case of location moving with very different climatic environment
(even explosive one), please contact the manufacturer.
The enclosed technical data correctly gives the forecasted capacity and the various
performances of this equipment.
Load positioning :
Until further notice, as forecasted and clearly indicated in the technical data, the load must
theoretically be centred on the platform or in its axle if the load is movable.
Yet, the normal use can accept a throw off centred load which at least could be an overtaking
and passing of the platform axle of a third of the width or of the length.
Beyond these values, the use of the apparatus becomes abnormal and dangerous. In this case
the manufacturer’s responsibility cannot by no means be engaged.
Note that a throw off centred load or less will cause an inclination of the platform. In this
case, this inclination is normal and can reach a 3 to 4 % tilting.
Importance of the load :
It is given on the detailed description. It is highly not recommended to pass beyond this rule,
even if the apparatus is adjusted not to pass beyond 10 % of this value in low position. It is very
important that the staff respect this load. Any passing beyond could cause important
damages to staff and/or goods.
Manufacturer’s responsibility cannot be engaged in case of passing beyond this nominal
load value.
Platform collapsing under the load :
Unless the equipment has a locking device which in this case is clearly mentioned in the
technical description, It is normal to state a collapsing of some millimetres of the platform
when the load is placed on it. This collapsing is normal up to values reaching 40 to 50 mm. It
will remain uniform as long as the same load is placed on the platform.
However, if there is no locking device, it is possible to state a slow collapsing of the platform
under load. For the equipment mentioned in the present technical notice, the maximum admitted
value for collapsing is or 5 mm by 10 minutes (this value is given in the standard
recommendations for liftables).
Working rating :
Unless to the contrary, the maximum rating of the apparatus is 20 complete cycles per hour, that
is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. One cycle means 1 complete lifting and 1 complete lowering of
the total given stroke.

A normal use of the apparatus can accept 10 % over the rating as long as the number of daily
cycles remain the forecasted ones.
The manufacturer’s responsibility cannot be engaged if this rule is not observed.
5.2 — Technical description of the mobil liftable functioning :
As a rule, the lifting and lowering are obtained by the folding or unfolding of the hydraulic
cylinders, this depending if oil is admitted under pressure or if it is emptied by gravity.
Controls :
Under further notice clearly mentioned in the enclosed technical data, all control box has a button
UP, a button DOWN and a button EMERGENCY STOP.
On the main electrical control chest front, fixed on a wall or on a pole placed near the liftable,
there is a button ON. This button must be actioned before liftable using.
If during the liftable working, the operator has to use the EMERGENCY STOP button, it is
necessary for the liftable restarting, to exclude the risk which caused this emergency stop and
push back on the button ON.
Lifting :
When the operator pushed on the button UP, the power unit motor runs and the linked hydraulic
pump transfers oil from the tank toward the cylinder(s). The unfolding speed of the cylinders
depends on the pump’s flow and of the cylinder(s) volume.
If the operator loosen the button: the motor stops, the oil flow stops and the platform stays on the
position; the hydraulic circuits placed between the cylinder(s) and the electrovalve remain under
pressure. For security, in case of power cutting, the hydraulic system fixed on the cylinder(s)
remain closed and prevent the oil to come out.
Lowering :
When the operator pushed on the button DOWN, the platform lowers as long as the button is
actioned.
The lowering is caused by the opening of the hydraulic distributor placed at cylinder bottom. This
operation let the cylinder(s) oil go to the power unit tank. The oil circuit of evacuation goes
through a flow valve which, after an appropriate adjustment, allows the oil evacuation speed, this
means the lowering speed.
If the button DOWN is released, the platform remains in position.
5.3 — Directions for use :
Every morning, before any working with loads, it is necessary to look after the safety components
set on the liftable, in particular the safety frame placed on the platform perimeter and the safety
braking bumpers for the motorised mobil equipments.
Put the electrical control chest under pressure by positioning the circuit-breaker placed near this
electrical control chest, on feeding position (position I ).

Push on the button ON.
Push, without releasing, on the button UP to raise the liftable until the platform arrives at the
wanted position.
Push, without releasing, on the button DOWN to lower the liftable until the platform arrives at the
wanted position.
IMPORTANT : For security reasons, if the operator stops pushing on the buttons UP or DOWN,
the motion stops also at the actual reached position.
During lowering, if the safety frame placed under the platform perimeter meets an
obstacle, the motion stops even if the button DOWN is pushed.
On the push button box, there is an emergency stop button which fix the liftable in position in
case of sudden danger during its travel. To restart the liftable :
. first exclude the risk which caused the emergency stop, then unlock the button
EMERGENCY STOP by turning it on arrow direction.
. push on the button ON
. the liftable runs again.
5.4 — Forbidden misusing :
The manufacturer’s responsibility cannot be engaged in case of material or corporeal
accident if the elevator has been misused as the following non restrictive list :
— Block up, shunt, etc… one or more security parts.
— Overload the elevator with regard to the forecasted one.
— If the load, instead of being laid, is dropped from a certain height.
— Skid the load on the platform, except if this has been forecasted which is written in the detail
description).
— Drum intensively on the push buttons boxes.
— Block up a control part.
— Go under the lifting system for maintenance or repairing, without any efficient choking or
mechanical locking.
— Go under the lifting system when the elevator is actioned.
— Work on the electrical control cabinet when the elevator is actioned without being competent or
commissioned to do so (maintenance department for instance).
— Force the running of the elevator by operating on the electrical parts without being competent or
commissioned to do so (maintenance department for instance).

6 — MAINTENANCE
6.1 — Preliminary warning :
Beyond the regulations given in the paragraph no. 11, the user must comply with the actual laws
in the country where the equipment has been installed.
The customer must conform to the protection and security standards for lifting apparatus even if
it remains immobilised for a long time.
The checking, maintenance or repairing operations must always be done elevator being
stopped, unloaded and platform resting on chocks or safety legs or on its locks. If for any
reason, the platform cannot rest on its safety chocks, the platform must absolutely be
efficiently choked by other means.
The security rules for maintenance and repairing must be punctilious respected and
particularly out of voltage during some works.
The customer will keep a clean maintenance book up to date for the operators safety
The manufacturer is at the customer’s disposal to, at his demand, assist him in his obligation to
do these periodical and prescribed checkings, as for example through a maintenance
settlement.
6.2 — Preventive maintenance :
For a good running of the elevator during its lifetime, it is recommended to do the following
checkings or operations :
6.2.1 — Every day, by the operator(s) :
If the apparatus has a safety frame fixed under the platform, before its first using check its
good working. Be sure that nothing stops the safety frame working.
6.2.2 — Every week or every month, by the operator(s) or the maintenance staff, according to
the more or less use of the apparatus:
— Clean the apparatus and its surroundings according to is environment.
— Check the oil level in the hydroelectrical power unit tank.
— Check the cylinder(s) rods for an eventual oil leaking.
— Check the pipes and flexibles, particularly in the areas where these parts could sometimes be in
contact with walls or moving surfaces.
— Check the conformity of the various adjustments. If necessary, readjust it as mentioned in
paragraph 4.2.2.
— The rollers surface must never be greased.

— Bearings and articulations have no greasers (except if indicated in the detailed description) and
must never be greased. They are lifelong self-lubricated.
— For the apparatus, and particularly the ones placed in a pit, the surface at base frame level
must always be clean from dirts.
6.2.3 — Every six months or each year according to the more or less use of the apparatus :
The maintenance must be done by the maintenance staff, or people informed about mechanical,
hydraulical and electromechanical mounting or dismounting.
— Drain the hydroelectrical power unit.
— After fill up the tank, elevator being in low position. (see list of recommended oils). Fill up the
tank at its maximum level. It is recommended to pour the oil using a filter-funnel.
Do not forget that the first draining must imperiously be done after 150 working hours or
after six months.
Please remind that the used oils cannot be drained no matter how. According to the actual
regulations and for environment protection, the oil draining must be done by qualified
firms.
— If there are moto-reducing valves on some parts, check their oil level (eventually mentioned in
the technical data).
— A complete check-up of all the apparatus, particularly the cylinder(s) rods, axles, rollers.
— A complete check-up of the screws and bolts, etc…, which if necessary must be tightened.
— A complete check-up of the mechano-welded structure.
— It is advised to proceed at the apparatus cleaning before any checkings. It is recommended to
use a high pressure cleaner or rags. This cleaning must be done without soda or acid products. It
is recommended to use a Karsher or rags.
— During the yearly checking, according to the results, it is necessary to change some parts such
as: rollers, articulations rings, cylinders seals, etc…;
It is highly advised to only use origin or recommended spare parts. Any derogation with
regard to this advise can stop the warranty period.
6.2.4 — Proceedings for the changing of some parts or components :
If the lifting system does not work, how to accede under the platform :
For some maintenance or repairing operations, it is necessary to enter beneath the platform,
when the lifting system does not work after a break down or lack of electrical feeding.
Some apparatus have an access trap door to the power pack (this is indicated or not in the
detailed description) so to repair it.
If the platform have no trap door, or if the break down preventing the platform to raise does not
come from the power pack, then the platform must be lifted through a crane runway, a pulley18

block, a lorry, etc… All the platform not having trap doors are equipped with fixing tapped holes
for slings (mainly sling rings).
The load to be lift is : the platform weight + half the cylinders and arms weight, which is about 60
% of the total dead weight.
How to proceed :
— Screw the sling rings in the tapped holes.
— With the chosen mean, slowly lift the platform to its high position.
— Place the security chocks. The platform must absolutely be well stalled.
— Lower the platform to these chocks.
6.2.4.1 — Draining the power pack tank with (or without) filter changing :
IMPORTANT FOR SECURITY :
If the power pack is inside the liftable, bring the platform to high position so to place the
security chocks, lower the platform to these chocks. This will forbid the platform lowering
during maintenance operations.
In some exceptional conditions, If you have no the origin choking device, the maintenance staff
will have to put an efficient stalling to prevent any platform lowering before all maintenance or
repairing operation, event if the cylinders are missing (after their dismounting).
If the power pack is outside the liftable, draining must be done platform in low position.
For the hydraulic power packs, without aluminium block :
— Unscrew the 4 fixing screws from the hydraulic tank cover and remove it.
— Drain the vat with a pump or another way.
— Dismantle the filter.
— Clean well the tank with rags. The inside of the vat must be perfectly clean.
— Mount the new filter.
— Pour out the oil.
— Replace the tank cover.
For the hydraulic power packs, with aluminium block :
— To empty the tank, either use a oil-gun, either turn upside down the tank
so the oil comes out in a vat, either dismount the oil tank above a vat for
used oils.
— if the liftable is in low position, fill up the new oil taking in account of the oil
remaining in the cylinders.
On any type of hydraulic power pack :
— The hydraulic pump draining is automatic.

6.2.4.2 — Changing the rollers, wearing rings :
This operation can be sometimes dangerous and need a particular intervening. It is highly
recommended to contact our spare parts department to have all the necessary informations. This
department will give all the necessary informations about this liftable, this will permit to safely
handle or repair the concerned parts.
6.2.4.3 — Changing the ball of trailer coupling :
IMPORTANT FOR SECURITY: bring the platform to high position so to place the security
chocks, lower the platform to these chocks. This will forbid the platform lowering during
maintenance operations.
In some exceptional conditions, If you have no the origin choking device, the maintenance staff
will have to put an efficient stalling to prevent any platform lowering before all maintenance or
repairing operation, event if the cylinders are missing (after their dismounting).
— Unscrew the union of the stiff pipe placed on cylinder end, do not forget to put a vat for the oil.
— Hold up the cylinder by chocks or slings.
— Remove the axle corresponding to the ball of trailer coupling to be changed. During this
operation be careful not to damage the cylinder rod.
— Tilt the cylinder so to remove the defective ball of trailer coupling.
— Change this defective part.
— Replace the cylinder in position and mount the axle (proceed in the reverse way).
6.2.4.4 — Changing one or more cylinders :
IMPORTANT: do not forget to chock the platform as mentioned before (point 6.2.4.3).
— Proceed as for the changing of the ball of trailer coupling. Remove the axles at cylinder
extremities.
— With a sling, stow the cylinder body allowing its further handling.
— Take out the cylinder.
— Replace with the new cylinder by proceeding to the reverse operations avoiding any chocks.
6.2.4.5 — Changing an electrovalve :
— Usually this part is fixed at cylinder end.
IMPORTANT FOR SECURITY: bring the platform to high position so to place the security
chocks, lower the platform to these chocks. This will forbid the platform lowering during
maintenance operations.
In some exceptional conditions, If you have no the origin choking device, the maintenance staff
will have to put an efficient stalling to prevent any platform lowering before all maintenance or
repairing operation, event if the cylinders are missing (after their dismounting).

— Through the main contact-breaker placed on the electrical chest side, cut-off the liftable
electrical feeding.
— Unscrew and disconnect the electrovalve coil (this coil coupling runs through the electrovalve).
— Dismount the electrovalve hydraulic couplings then the block itself. Replace with the new block
and reset by proceeding to the reverse operations of dismounting.
6.2.4.6.-.Proceeding for cylinder seals change :
· Cylinder ø 80 to 140
· Dismount the cylinder,
· Unscrew and remove the screw Rep. 1.
· Unscrew and remove the screw Rep. 12.
· Slide the guide Rep. 3 for some millimetres inside the cylinder,
· Put the screw Rep 1 in the hole above the stop rush Rep. 2.
· With a screwdriver remove the stop rush (be careful these stop rush can suddenly «fly off»).
· From the cylinder drum, remove the guide Rep.3, the rod Rep. 4 and the ramp Rep. 11.
· Unscrew the screw Rep. 10 and remove the ramp Rep. 11.
· Slide the guide Rep. 3 on the cylinder rod so to remove it,
· Change the seals and the guiding rings (rep. 5, 6, 7, 8 et 9).
· Remount the whole by proceeding inversely to the dismounting,
· Replace the cylinder.

· Cylinder ø 50 to 70
· Dismount the cylinder,
· Unscrew the guide screw Rep. 1 with a spanner (use holes rep. 7).
· Remove the guide Rep. 1 and the cylinder rod rep.2,
· With a screwdriver remove the stop rush rep. 9 (be careful these stop rush can suddenly «fly
off»).
· Slide the guide Rep. 3 on the cylinder, rod so to remove it,
· Change the seals and the guiding rings (rep. 3 to 6).
· Remount the whole by proceeding inversely to the dismounting,
· Replace the cylinder.
· Unscrew circa one turn the draining screw located on the high part of the cylinder rep.2; do not
completely remove the drain-cock,
· Push on the button «up»,
· When the air went out and oil flows clear, screw back the draining screw.
· Cylinder for SM
· As above-mentioned, dismount the cylinder,

· Remove the cylinder rod rep 1
· Change the seals rep 3
· Put back the rod and refit the cylinder,
· Unscrew circa one turn the draining screw located on the high part of the cylinder rep.2; do not
completely remove the drain-cock,
· Push on the button «up»,
· When the air went out and oil flows clear, screw back the draining screw.
6.2.4.7 — Changing a fall-proof valve or modification of its adjustment :
The fall-proof valves adjustment has been done in our plant and must not be modified. However,
in case of modification in the liftable use, as gear change or load change, it is necessary to
readjust the fall-proof valves according to its new application.
VERY IMPORTANT :
. For any new application with this liftable, the lifted load must not be higher than the
nominal one.
. For safety reasons, it is imperious that, after any fall-proof valve adjustment, the liftable
be checked either by the manufacturer or by an agreed checking organism.
. If these 2 above-mentioned recommendations are not considered, the manufacturer’s
responsibility cannot be engaged.
6.3 — Curative maintenance :
Some difficulties may happen during the working of the equipment. As soon as the staff sees a
break down or a failure and if the repairing cannot be immediately done, check that the load is
still on the platform and well choked, switch off the electrical feeding of the apparatus.
Identification of material breakdown and repairing must, in general, be done by the
maintenance staff.
The possible occurrences and their repairing may be :
6.3.1 — If the elevator does not run :
— Check that the main switch in on Position I.
— Push on the button ON, check that the emergency stops are not on.
— Check the security parts forecasted on the liftable (see technical data giving the eventual
accessories).
— Check the power pressure on the circuit breaker.

— Check the connections between the circuit breaker and the terminal box.
— Check the feeding pressures (see the electrical diagram).
— Check the fuses.
6.3.2 — Partial running : the platform does not lift even pushing on the button UP.
The motor turns but the platform does not move :
— Check that there is no overload. If this is the case, remove it until it corresponds to the
forecasted load.
— Check the rotating direction of the motor.
— Check that the hydraulic circuit and pump have an oil flow almost conform to the given values
(see the hydraulic drawing).
— Check the pressure limit valve adjustment.
— If the liftable works together with another equipment, check that the control informations are
corrects.
The motor does not turn :
— Check as given in paragraph 6.3.1., then :
— Check that the contactor has a correct electrical feeding.
— Check the circuit-breaker condition.
— Check the power pressure at circuit-breaker terminal box.
— Check if the end of stroke UP contactor is not set.
— Check the push-button working condition.
6.3.3 — Partial running : the platform does not lower when pushing on the button DOWN:
— Check that the safety frame contactor(s) is not set.
— Check that the end of stroke DOWN (placed on the frame — see the electrical drawing) has not
been accidentally set.
— Check that the electrovalve coil placed at cylinder extremity is well set. (if yes, then change it,
find herewith the supplier’s brochure).
— Check the electrovalve mechanical working (see herewith the supplier’s brochure).
— Check if the pressure limit valve is completely closed (see herewith the supplier’s brochure).
— Check the push-button working condition.
— If the liftable has a fall-proof valve at cylinder extremity (see the enclosed technical data or the
hydraulic drawing), push on the button UP to lift the platform.

*if the platform raises, then lowers when pushing the button DOWN, this means that the
fall-proof valve is jammed probably under jerks or a too fast lowering speed. Eventually
slow down the lowering speed (see paragraph 4.2.2.).
* if the platform raises, but does not lower even pushing the button DOWN, this means that
the fall-proof valve keeps jammed. In this case :
a) the load is too heavy. Reduce this load and bring it to the forecasted one ;
b) the lowering speed is too fast. Adjust this one (see paragraph 4.2.2).
c) there is an oil leak in the hydraulic circuit or there is hose breaking.
6.3.4 — Defective running : the platform moves in jerks but smoothly :
Generally, there is air in the cylinder(s). Correctly drain the cylinder :
— Bring the platform, without load, on its chocks or locks.
— Unscrew the draining cap place on cylinder top; do not remove it completely. if there is no cap,
slightly unscrew the feeding connection on the cylinder to cause a leak. Place a vat under the
provoked leak.
— Place a vat vertically to the provoked leaks.
— Action the button UP.
— When the air has come out and oil pours out, screw back the cap or connection.
Remark: If there is air in the cylinder this could be caused by a leak (even a small one) Check
the circuit tightness and the tightening of the connections.
6.3.5 — Defective running : the platform moves in jerks but not smoothly :
— There may be dirt on the bearings: in this case, clean the bearing from any dirts. Never grease
the bearings.
— The bearings are jammed: in this case, completely clean with an oil adapted to this problem.
Try to run the liftable. If after a good cleaning the defect persists, dismount these bearings and
change them if necessary.
6.3.6 — The platform does not completely reach its high position :
— Check the oil level of the power unit tank and if necessary, add more oil. (see the enclosed
recommended list of oils).
— Check that the lifting device is not stopped either by bearings or mechanical part, or by an
outside obstacle.
— Check that the end of stroke switch has not been displaced by mistake.
6.3.7 — The platform does not on its position :
As mentioned in paragraph 5.1. it is possible, in case there is not a locking device, to state a slow
collapsing of the platform with load and in process of time. This collapsing must stay lower than 5
mm by 10 minutes.
If this is not the case :

— Check the hydraulic couplings tightening, the fuses, the cylinders leakings.
— Check if the hydraulic oil is clean, if not drain it.
— Check if the electrovalve placed at the cylinder extremity and the fall-proof valve are clean. It
they cannot be cleaned, change them.

7 — UNFIT FOR SERVICE — DISMOUNTING — CASTING OUT
7.1 — Temporary unfitting
In case the equipment must remain unused for many days or months, no particular precautions
except :
— No load on the platform which, on low position, rest on its chocks.
— Cut the liftable electrical circuit.
— Lock the main switch handle placed on the electrical control chest side so to avoid sudden and
not forecasted runnings during the unfitting time.
— Be aware of safety environment of the liftable. In particular, be careful of the staff possible falls
in the areas (pit, hole, and so on…) that the unfitted liftable could leave.
— According to the liftable environment, protect it eventually as mentioned in paragraph 3.3
STOCKING.
If the unfitting remains many months and if the liftable is in a pit, periodically check this pit
cleaning condition , in particular that no water stands in it.
At the liftable resetting, please take account of the paragraph 4.2. — PUTTING INTO
SERVICE.
7.2 — Dismounting
In case there is a planting change, a modification of the material or of the production line in which
this liftable is placed, the user may be brought to dismount it. Do as follow :
— No load on the platform which, on low position, rest on its chocks.
— Cut the liftable electrical circuit.
— Disconnect and dismount the equipment in the opposite of the paragraph 4.1.2. SETTING.
— If possible, use the original slings after checking of their good condition, or sling the liftable by
holding it underneath.
— Stock the equipment as mentioned in paragraph 3.3. STOCKING.
— For resetting operations, proceed as mentioned in paragraph 4.1. MOUNTING — APPLICATION
and 4.2. PUTTING INTO SERVICE.
7.3 — Casting out
If the equipment is in a decay condition bringing eventual risk for the staff or for the materials, the
user must absolutely exclude the liftable, that is unfit it.
For this, proceed as above-mentioned (7.2. DISMOUNTING), then :

— If the power pack is inside, set the safety legs, break it from the frame and put it outside.
— Put the platform on low position on its chocks.
— Drain the hydraulic power pack. Please remind that the used oils cannot be drained no
matter how. According to the actual regulations and for environment protection, the oil
draining must be done by qualified firms.
— Dismount the hydraulic power pack and the hydraulic circuit.
— Disconnect the electrical control chest or box from the equipment.
The liftable is unfitted and not dangerous after these operations. If the liftable must be completely
destroyed, do as usual. If necessary call an iron recuperation company, or contact the
manufacturer.
